The Measure (SA) is a punk rock band from New Brunswick (NJ). The Measure (SA) band members are: Lauren Measure (guitar/vox), Fid (guitar/vox), Mikey Yannich (drummer) and Tim Burke (bass/sanity-maintenance). Wonder what (SA) mean? SA stand for Strictly Analog (according to punknews.org). The band started by Mike, Fid and Lauren in the summer of 2004. In spring 2005, The Measure (sa) recorded their debut LP.

The Measure (SA) had been active on MySpace since 2004. Samples of their music can be listen on MySpace, where you can hear: Revisionist, Laundry List, Do The Hustle II, How to Thrash A Million, No Regrets and Remember the Devilock.

The Measure (SA) had released their album Historical Fiction on May 2007 under the label Team Science Records. Here’s what Jen Cray of ink19.com had said about Historical Fiction: “New Brunswick, New Jersey’s The Measure [Sa] have not only captured my ear, but kept me coming back for me for days now. Their debut full length Historical Fiction has managed to stir up the energetic, fun parts of mid 90s pop-punk and indie rock into one lip-smacking concoction.”

Their Songs About People… And Fruit N’ Shit had attract some attraction in the world of punk rock. Songs About People had been released on October 2008 on Don Giovanni Records.

The Measure (SA) upcoming projects

Fall is going to be quite busy for The Measure. Many shows for October are plans. Between October 30 and November 1, The Measure will perform at Fest 8 in Gainesville, Florida.

Among with Mathias Hatleskog Tjonn, Lindsay Katt, Palmyra, Pale Young Gentlemen, The Defending Champions, Noble Three, Peter Broderick, Steso Songs, The Botticellis, Proud Simon, Brooke Waggoner, and Béatrice Martin alias Cœur de Pirate, The Measure (SA) had contributed to the soundtrack of the upcoming indie movie Sneakers and Soul.
