Shania Twain to be judge on American Idol

Breaking News: Paula Abdul vacant spot had first be taking by Victoria Beckham, Posh Spice. And now come the turn of country superstar Shania Twain. After Victoria Beckham, it’s now the turn to our favorite country singer to become part of the Idol show. Shania Twain will be from the judging panel of American Idol 9th Season with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara Dio Guardi in Chicago on August 30 and 31.

We are very happy for Shania Twain. Shania Twain had been out of the spotlight for quite sometime now and her American Idol judge role is marking her return, 9 years after she disappeared from the public life.

We haven’t heard much of Shania Twain since she had splited from producer Robert "Mutt" Lange in May 2008. Shania had a son from this relation, Eja D’Angelo, now 7 years old.

Shania Twain is born Eilleen Regina Edwards. She’s born in Windsor (Ontario, Canada) on August 28, 1965. She had sold 75 million albums worldwide. In her musicale career, she had released 4 albums: Shania Twain (1993), The Woman in Me (1995), Come on Over (1997) and Up! (2002). She had 7 billboard no 1 singles. She had won several awards, including 5 Grammys: Best Country Album for The Woman in Me (1996), Best Country Song for You’re Still The One (1999), Best Female Country Vocal Performance for You’re Still The One (1999), Best Country Song for Come On Over (2000), Best Female Country Vocal Performance for Man! I Feel Like A Woman! (2000). Her album Come on Over is the best-selling album of all time by a female musician (source: Wikipedia).

Shania Twain haven’t release any new album since 2002. Could her American Idol appearance mark her official comeback? We hope so and I we cannot wait to see Shania Twain as a guest judge on American Idol. It’s going to be awesome.
