In June 2009, Proud Simon was at Kampo Studios in Manhattan to begin the tracking of their upcoming album Anchors Aweigh.

On September 1, Proud Simon will release Anchors Aweigh. Proud Simon Anchors Aweigh is produced by Jamie Candiloro (R.E.M., Ryan Adams & the Cardinals, Willie Nelson). Among with R.E.M. and The Botticellis, Proud Simon works with Team Clermont to promote their music.

Proud Simon will perform on September 3 at Red Square (Albany, NY); September 4 at Bread and Jam Café (Cohoes, NY); September 5 at Pianos (New York, NY); September 6 at Evolve Festival Pavilion Stage (Augusta, NJ); September 11 at Utica Music Fest (Utica, NY); September 17 at The Bug Jar (Rochester, NY) and September 18 at All Asia (Cambridge, MA).

Among with Mathias Hatleskog Tjonn, The Measure, Lindsay Katt, Palmyra, Pale Young Gentlemen, The Defending Champions, Noble Three, Peter Broderick, Steso Songs, The Botticellis, Brooke Waggoner and Béatrice Martin alias Cœur de Pirate, Proud Simon had contributed to the soundtrack of the upcoming indie movie Sneakers and Soul.
