Palmyra is an indie-rock band of Brooklyn (NY). Palmyra band members are: Gina Pensiero (vocals, guitar, songs), Jon Lango (drum), Karl Sturk (guitar, vocals), Kenny Roebuck (trumpet, vocals) and Sean Lango (synth bass, actual bass). Palmyra band members had known each other since elementary school. They officially form Palmyra in 2007.

Palmyra had been active on MySpace since 2008. Four are their songs appear on their MySpace profile: Bad Kids, Wool Remix by Canary in the Cave, You Can’t Go Anywhere, June’s Disappointment and Borderguards Remix by Emily Bate.

Palmyra had released their first album Mis-En-Scene on July 2008. Mis-En-Scene is a 13 studio-recorded original tracks that had been released on the record label I Am Janet! I Am Janet! is a record label that been found in 2002 by Gina Pensiero. Gina Pensiero is also a band member of The Dumb and Ugly Club and Umberto. So far, I Am Janet! had released the album of The Dumb and Ugly Club, Umberto, Emily Bate and Simonnewcomb. Gina Pensiero is also a blogger. Her blog is One Sweet Song

With Andy Tait (reed instruments), Sean Lango (guitar), Ian Tait (bass), Jon Lango is a member of the jazz band Popeye’s / Lango Group with Brothers Tait. Jon Lango is also the drumer of Ultra Death Men, a rock experimental group. Sean Lango (guitar, synth) and m” (bass, theremin) are also members of Ultra Death Men.

Among with Mathias Hatleskog Tjonn, The Measure, Lindsay Katt, Pale Young Gentlemen, The Defending Champions, Noble Three, Peter Broderick, Karolina Stenström alias Steso Songs, The Botticellis, Proud Simon, Brooke Waggoner and Béatrice Martin alias Cœur de Pirate, Palmyra had contributed to the soundtrack of the upcoming indie movie Sneakers and Soul.
