Portrait of a journalist specialized in serial crimes and serial killers: Nadia Fezzani
61Serial crimes are among the most disturbing ones. Ever wonder what there’s in the mind of serial killers? Guess the idea had once crossed the mind of Nadia Fezzani. Fezzani is an American Serial Killers specialist.
Nadia Fezzani is a Canadian journalist. For the last 3 years, Nadia Fezzani had conducted extensive research and she had interviewed notorious American serial killers. I first find out about Nadia Fezzani in an article publish in the free newspaper Metro, edition of July 30, 2009. In the article, Fezzani describe her meeting with Richard Cottingham. I wasn’t much interested by the monster itself, Richard Cottingham, but much more by Nadia Fezzani. Richard Cottingham was a serial killer from New Jersey. Between 1977 and 1980, he had killed 5 victims, mostly prostitutes. Richard Cottingham had confessed that he might have done around 100 victims.
About Richard Cottingham, Nadia Fezzani said: “His crimes, violent attacks and murders are some of the cruelest I’ve ever come across. I don’t comprehend how anyone could like doing these things to innocent people, so I wanted to understand why”. (Source: Java Films, Serial Killers, 2009, 52 minutes, Patrick Spica Productions).
Other than Richard Cottingham, Fezzani had interviewed the serial killers Arthur Shawcross, Joel Rifkin, Keith Jesperson, John Eric Armstrong and Gary G. Grant.
Nadia Fezzani had studied French literature at Concordia University (Montreal). She also studied Journalism at St Clair College in Windsor (Ontario). After her studies, she covers the NHL team The Canadiens of Montreal. She also conducted interviews with actors and music stars, like Dave Navarro and Nickelback just to name a few.
Nadia Fezzani had published articles in the magazines Summun, UMM, Les Canadiens, Hometown Hockey, 24 Heures and Dernière Heure, just to name a few. As a serial killers specialist, Mrs. Fezzani had presented conferences on the topic to university students.
