Ken Hartwick has a B.A. in Business Administration from Trent University (Ontario, Peterborough). The Trent University is best known to be one of Canada's top primarily undergraduate universities. Other notable alumni of Trent University included: Linwood Barclay, Mani Haghighi, Yann Martel and Christl Verduyn, just to name a few.

From 1994 to 2000, Mr. Hartwick was a Partner of Ernst & Young LLP, a global leader in assurance, tax, transaction and advisory services that have activities worldwide. During the year 2000, Mr. Hartwick has been named Vice President, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

Ken Hartwick is a former chief financial officer at Hydro One. Hydro One, this company is among the largest distribution companies in North America. Mr. Hartwick was at Hydro One from 2001 to 2004. Hydro One operates in Ontario and specializes in electricity. Hydro One business foundation is guided by the Green Energy Act. At Hydro One, Ken Hartwick gained increasing executive-level responsibility and it’s how he became a chief financial officer. In January 2012, Hydro One launches academic scholarship for First Nations Métis and Inuit Students in order to support post-secondary education in power-related studies.

In October 2004, Ken Hartwick has been a director of Atlantic Power Corporation. Atlantic Power Corporation is a leading traded power generation and infrastructure company. Atlantic Power Corporation does business in the US and Canada.

In 2006, Ken Hartwick joined the team of CEO for Just Energy Group Inc. Just Energy Group Inc. wants to revolutionize how customers use energy by developing leading energy solutions through continuous innovation and superior customer experiences. Mr. Hartwick started his career at Just Energy Group Inc. as President. In June 2008, he became the Chief Executive Officer of that company. Ken Hartwick contribute to Just Energy Group Inc. success by launching offices in Alberta, British Columbia, Indiana, New Jersey, California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Texas.
