In 2001, Julie Bureau story makes the headlines in Quebec. On September 26, 2001, Julie Bureau had been reporting missing. Julie Bureau had escaped from her home in Milan (QC). The reasons for her leaving home had never been explicitly told. From our understanding, Julie Bureau was facing multiple personal problems. She was only 14 years old at that time. Her relationship with her mom was quite difficult. Julie Bureau was also having problem at school at the Coaticook College, so she decided to leave without telling anyone. She didn’t have any good friend at school. Julie Bureau was only 14 years old at that time. For the next 3 years, she had been reported as a missing child. During that time, Julie Bureau was living a new life.
When she left her hometown of Milan in September 2001, Julie Bureau did some hitchhike and came to Montreal. For a reason or another, Montreal is the place of lost teens. Many missing teens are being seen in Montreal. But since it’s the second biggest city of Canada, it’s sometime difficult to find a missing teen here. Because of the subway, they can move around a lot.
It’s been reported that Julie Bureau may have prostitute before leaving Montreal for Beauceville. In Beauceville, Julie Bureau met a 38 years old man which became her friend. At the time, Julie Bureau told her new friend that she was 18 (but she was only 14 years old at the time) and that her name was Nancy.
For the next 3 years, Julie Bureau lives a peaceful life with her friend, not to call him her lover. Julie Bureau had declared that the 38 years old man and she was only good friend. While living in the home of her 38 years old friend, she had her own bedroom. Those where quiet and peaceful years for Julie Bureau.
But in 2004, Julie Bureau had been recognized at a flea market and she had to face the reality. It hasn’t been clear if she had met her parent at that time. But once she had been put undercover, at the age of 17 years old, Julie Bureau parents authorize her to stay with her older new friend.
Julie Bureau had published a tell-it-all book. The story of Julie Bureau (The Real Julie Bureau), a runway child had been published on October 25, 2004 under the title La Vraie Julie Bureau. The story had been written by André Mathieu. André Mathieu is a novelist and publisher born in Saint-Honoré (Beauce, Quebec) in 1942. In Quebec, he is well-known for his essay Aurore la vraie histoire (French book) – Aurore: The True Story (1990). The book is about Aurore Gagnon, a young girl that died from ill-treatment in 1920.
In 2008, Julie Bureau had made the headlines again. It’s been report that in 2008, Julie Bureau had married Jean-Paul Bernard, the man who had rescued her in 2001. Jean-Paul Bernard had to face justice after being arrested for aggression. According to the press, Jean-Paul Bernard had caught Julie Bureau in bed with another man… We haven’t been able to find too many details about the story.
Now 23 years old, Julie Bureau probably still live in Beauceville with her older friend and now husband, Jean-Paul Bernard. We haven’t publicly heard of Julie Bureau and Jean-Paul Bernard since 2008.
