Meet pediatrician Dr. Jim Sears from TV show The Doctors

Dr. Jim Sears, from his birth name James M. Sears, is a pediatrician. Dr. Jim Sears father is Dr. William Sears, a renowned US pediatrician author of several books. Dr. William Sears made hundreds of TV show appearances such as 20/20, Donahue, Good Morning America, Oprah, CBS This Morning, CNN, NBC's Today Show and Dateline. Dr. William Sears is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and a fellow of the Royal College of Pediatricians (RCP).

Dr. Jim Sears mother is a Martha Sears, a registered nurse and a former childbirth educator who like to name herself a "professional mother". Dr. Jim Sears is one of 7 other children. Among Dr. Jim Sears brothers, Dr. Peter Sears and Dr. Robert Sears are also part of the family practice. Dr. Robert Sears and Dr. Robert Sears are both pediatricians.

Dr. Jim Sears earned his medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine in 1996. In 1999, Dr. Jim Sears completed his his pediatric residency at Northeastern Ohio University College of Medicine, Tod Children's Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Following his pediatric residency, Dr. Jim Sears received the honor of emergency medicine resident of the year.

Dr. Jim Sears also writes for Parenting and Baby Talk magazines.

In his work, Dr. Jim Sears promotes healthy lifestyle and diet. Following the news of his dad colon cancer a few years back, Dr. Jim Sears decided to go for a healthier lifestyle and lost 50 pounds. In his approach, Dr. Sears like to share his own experience with weight lost program to help motivate his patients. Dr. Jim Sears suggests to eat omega 3 food because they immune system and help the body to get rid of bad fat by eating good fat.
