Donnie Wahlberg, from his birth name Donald Edmond Wahlberg, Jr., is a singer-songwriter, record producer and actor born on August 17, 1969 in Dorchester, Massachusetts. Donnie Wahlberg father was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. The native South Boston Donnie Wahlberg is mostly known for being a band member of the New Kids on the Block, a Boston formation.

While being still in high school, Donnie Wahlberg had been approached by the impresario Maurice Starr to start a boy band. Donnie Wahlberg recruited the band members of New Kids on the Block: his brother Mark, his friend Danny Wood, classmate Jordan Knight and his brother Jonathan. Joey McIntyre replaced Mark Wahlberg.
