Brooke Waggoner: Heal for the Honey, first album

Brooke Waggoner is a singer and songwriter born in 1985 in Nashville (Tennessee). Waggoner is not a country artist, but an Indie pop-folk singer. Her background included 17 years of formal training in classical music. She plays piano. She started writing songs at the age of 10. She has a college degree in Music Composition and Orchestration. She pursues her studies in music at the LouisianaStateUniversity. Her classical background gives a vibrant sense of melody to her music. Chopin is Brooke most influential classical composer.

Brooke released her first album Heal for the Honey in 2008 under the label Swoon Moon. Even she declared being a “non-good songwriter”, don’t believe her, she’s really talented. She names Mary Tyler Moore as an influence. She’d been active on MySpace since 2005. Among her songs, we find: Young Friend, Hush if You Must, Heal for the Honey, I Am Mine and Lungs Speed Lungs Sped.

Waggoner Heal for the Honey had been named by Patrol Magazine the number-one faith-inspired album of 2008. About her faith, Brooke said: “My faith is something I’m really passionate about. Every night you play in bars for people who may not get it, but the beauty of it is, it sparks all this conversation. It’s just such an outreach. In a way, a lot of those songs are for me, to be near to the Lord every night, while staying entertaining and inspiring. I’m big on challenging people and getting their wheels rolling. This summer 2009 had been quite busy for Brooke Waggoner. She had been working on a new record this summer. Autumn will be also busy for Brooke as she’s giving several concerts in the US and also one in Vancouver (Canada).

Among with Mathias Hatleskog Tjonn, The Measure, Lindsay Katt, Palmyra, Pale Young Gentlemen, The Defending Champions, Noble Three, Peter Broderick, Steso Songs, The Botticellis, Proud Simon and Béatrice Martin alias Cœur de Pirate, Brooke Waggoner had contributed to the soundtrack of the upcoming movie Sneakers and Soul.
